Member Terms, Agreement, and Polices

Membership & Share Structure

Moe Acres reserves the right to adjust pricing, scheduling, and product availability based on weather, animal health, or operational needs.

By purchasing a share, reserving pork, or visiting the farm, you acknowledge and agree to these policies.

• A full share provides 1 gallon per week.
• A half share provides 1 half gallon per week.
• Shares are billed monthly at $70for a full share and $36 for a half share.
• Members may purchase multiple shares if supply allows.
• Shares are first come, first served. If our herd grows or supply increases, we notify the waitlist first.

‍Temporary Pauses, Vacations, or Leaving the Program

• we do not allow pauses, skips. The monthly payment is the monthly payment
• If you need to end your membership, please give us at least 30 days notice so we can offer your spot to the next person on the waitlist.
• No credits are offered for vacations or missed weeks.

Pickup Rules

• Milk is handed off weekly at your chosen pickup.
• Please arrive on time because we are working with a perishable product.
• If you miss your pickup, your milk is forfeited for the week. We cannot remake or replace missed milk.
• You may send someone else to pick up for you.

Jar Returns

• Your milk comes in reusable jars.
• Jars must be returned every week, clean and dry, so we can sanitize and reuse them.
• Missing or damaged jars may result in a replacement fee.

Billing & Payments

• Shares are a monthly service and are billed automatically.
• Payment secures your share for the month.
• Late payments pause your pickup until resolved.
• We do not offer prorated months, refunds, or credits for missed pickups.

Refund Policy

Because milk comes from a live animal with real seasons, we cannot offer refunds for:
• Missed pickups
• Preferences in flavor, cream line, or texture
• Natural seasonal changes in milk
• Cows being temporarily out of production due to calving or health needs

Milk Handling and Safety

Raw milk must be treated with care.
• Refrigerate immediately after pickup.
• Keep milk at or below 38 degrees for best quality.
• Use clean glassware only.
• Our milk is not pasteurized and is provided exclusively to herdshare members under Colorado law.

Communication

• All members must provide a working email and phone number.
• We send updates about weather delays, cow issues, changes in supply, and holiday schedules.
• If we need to cancel a pickup because of weather or a farm emergency, we send updates as soon as possible.

Cow and Farm Operations

• Our cows are Holsteins, Jerseys, and Holstein-Jersey crosses.
• The girls are on pasture with access to grass hay and a dairy ration to keep them healthy. Feed ration at 1% of their body weight
• Milk supply naturally fluctuates with seasons, calving cycles, and herd health. We communicate openly when this affects share amounts.

Farm Visits & Tours

We love visitors, but Moe Acres is a working farm.
• Please stay within designated areas.
• Do not bring unapproved guests.
• No touching livestock without a team member present.
• Kids must remain with an adult at all times.
• Tours must be scheduled in advance.

Visits are by appointment only unless otherwise stated.

Visitors are asked to respect fences, animals, and posted boundaries.

Children must be supervised at all times.

Moe Acres is a working farm; guests enter at their own risk.

🐖 Pork Reservation Policies

Deposit

A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your half or whole hog. Deposits are applied to your final farm balance.

Processing Fees

Customers are responsible for paying the butcher directly for cutting, wrapping, smoking, and any specialty sausage.

Scheduling

Butcher dates are pre-scheduled. Missing a scheduled date without prior communication may forfeit your reservation.

Pickup

Pork is picked up directly from the processor unless otherwise announced. Customers are responsible for timely pickup.

Refunds

Due to the custom nature of processing, deposits are nonrefundable. If an emergency arises, please reach out — we’ll do our best to work with you.
